Alcohol and Other Drugs

We support clients who want to work to resolve their drug and /or alcohol use.  We can put people in touch with detox and rehabilitation providers, we can also connect clients with healthcare and counselling providers. In addition to this Hanover’s Southbank site runs a program for clients.

Alcohol and Other Drugs program  (AOD)

The AOD Team at Southbank is available to any person residing, or who has resided at, the Southbank Crisis Accommodation Facility who wishes to address Drug and Alcohol Issues.

The team of experienced and qualified Alcohol and Other Drugs practitioners operate from a non-judgemental, non-prescriptive, harm reduction perspective and are happy to discuss any aspect of a client’s drug use with them.

The team will support any client who wishes to access mainstream Alcohol and Other Drugs services which include:

  • Community Residential Withdrawal (detox)
  • AOD Residential Rehabilitation (rehab)
  • Non Residential Withdrawal
  • AOD counselling (standard and Complex)
  • AOD Care and Recovery Coordination
  • Pharmacotherapy
  • Any other program that may be of benefit to a client’s safety or recovery goals.

Some of the services provided by the Alcohol and Other Drugs team at Southbank include:

  • Informal information and education sessions (group and individual)
  • Informal harm reduction engagements
  • Screening, Assessment and referral coordination service (to enable access to other AOD services).
  • Care and Recovery Coordination (Short to medium term case management and treatment coordination).
