Support for alcohol and substance misuse

We support clients who want to work to resolve their drug and /or alcohol use.  We can put people in touch with detox and rehabilitation providers, we can also connect clients with healthcare and counselling providers. In addition to this Hanover’s Southbank site runs a program for clients.

Homeless and Drug Dependency Program (HDDP)

The program works by providing ongoing counselling and support for up to 2 years. This support focuses on all aspects of alcohol and drug use, together with any other issues. We can also connect clients who use the HDDP service with a comprehensive range of programs, including detox, community housing and day programs.

As part of the program your worker will support you with other long term goals, which will see you move towards more independent living. This might include working with you on a plan to find more stable housing, linking you up with employment and training programs and referring you to other services that offer support.

This program is a partnership between the Salvation Army (Adult Services), St Vincent de Paul (Ozanam House), Alfred Health and the Department of Health.
