Workplace giving

How does it work?

An employer can invite their employees to enter into a workplace giving program. The employer can nominate Hanover as their charity of choice and then specify the amount they wish to donate. Generally, the donation amount will be a fixed amount that will be deducted from the employees’ salary or wages on each pay. The payroll department then make a donation directly to Hanover on behalf of the employees who are participating in the program.

How to set up workplace giving at your organisation
Workplace giving is a really simple way for your business to make a big difference to Hanover. Talk to your HR department about setting up workplace giving to Hanover. Once it’s in place, your employees can choose to opt into the scheme and make a regular contribution to Hanover.

Workplace giving donations can be transferred directly to Hanover’s bank account. Please email remittance advices to

Matched giving: Taking your support further

‘Matched giving’ simply means that a business can match employees’ donations dollar-for-dollar at the end of the financial year, post-tax. Knowing that their contributions to life-changing development work will effectively be doubled is great motivation for employees to donate through workplace giving. It also allows businesses to display the organisation’s commitment to corporate social responsibility.

All donations received through workplace giving will be used to support emergency aid and material relief supplies for people experiencing homelessness.
