Hanover is a leading Melbourne-based agency which provides services to people experiencing homelessness or housing crisis. Hanover takes its name from its first location in Hanover Street in Fitzroy, where it began in 1964.
Hanover was one of the first agencies to use research to investigate the causes and consequences of homelessness and to suggest solutions to help alleviate it. The agency is independent; it has no structural links with churches, institutions or governments.
Ageing in what place - The experience of housing crisis and homelessness for older VictoriansHanover’s recently released research: Ageing in what place - the experience of housing crisis and homelessness for older Victorians explores an increasing trend of ageing people experiencing housing crisis later in life. The research features case studies a summary report and full report with recommendations designed to prevent elderly Victorians from experiencing homelessness.
We’re currently seeking women and men aged over 55 who have recently experienced housing crisis or homelessness to be interviewed for the second phase of this research.
The interview takes about half an hour and individual information remains confidential at all times. All participants receive a $20 gift voucher. To be involved in this important research, please contact Violet Kolar on 9288 9802.
